Kathmandu

Well we’ve finally arrived in Kathmandu, exhausted but happy. I finally got some much needed sleep but on arrival after standing in the heat and humidity for a visa my eyes were beginning to fail again.  The line moved painstakingly slow and it took over an hour to get through.  The saving grace was all the baggage was unloaded by the time we got to it.

As promised Surita was there to pick us up and after a harrowing ride through the streets of Kathmandu we arrived at the volunteer house.  I always make it a point not to try and expect anything when I volunteer or travel but rather to embrace whatever happens. However volunteer house is exactly what I envisioned. Austere, with lots of rooms and basic imenities and lots of other people here to do the same thing we are. There are 19 of us here tonight.  I will try and post some pictures of the view from our roof.
